The Dachverband der österreichischen Sozialversicherungsträger (DVSV) is an organization that encompasses all Austrian social security institutions. The DVSV plays a central role in the decision-making process for guidelines that promote the appropriateness and uniformity of the implementation practices of social security institutions, the coordination of the implementation activities of social security institutions, and the performance of cross-carrier administrative tasks in the field of social security.
The Dachverband der österreichischen Sozialversicherungsträger is responsible for a variety of international tasks that are not only provided to the social security institutions belonging to the umbrella organization, but also to numerous institutions, companies, and every insured person in Austria . The DVSV assumes strategic and operational roles in the performance of its core products and services, such as developing strategic business areas for the future (e.g., around combating fraud and errors), as well as handling specific measures (e.g., billing for international health services) . The DVSV serves domestic and foreign partners and contributes to legislation (e.g., in the context of negotiations on agreements on social security, the conclusion of administrative agreements, participation in decisions of the administrative commission) . As the DVSV is the only point of contact in Austria for health, accident, and pension insurance, it represents and serves not only the social security institutions belonging to the umbrella organization but also other institutions.
