Deployment and Testing Scenarios Results Library (Education)

This EBSI-VECTOR Information Pill highlights the project’s work piloting decentralized identity technology in the education sector across Europe. By collaborating with 31 organizations in 10 countries, the project explored key use cases such as secure academic record management, student mobility, Erasmus+ participation, digital diploma issuance, and student card verification. Initial results show strong institutional interest and positive outcomes, while also identifying challenges like funding and technology adoption. The insights gained are expected to shape the future of digital identity in education, supporting greater security, privacy, and efficiency for all stakeholders.

Business blueprint for social security

Collaborative efforts in EBSI-VECTOR focused on establishing the foundational elements for implementing cross-border social security use cases using digital infrastructures and Verifiable Credentials. The initiative addressed key instruments like the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and Portable Document A1 (PD A1), identifying challenges in current systems and the need for improved authenticity and interoperability. A business blueprint was developed, proposing a system architecture based on EBSI and Verifiable Credentials, with enterprise wallets for issuers and verifiers, processes for credential issuance and verification, and onboarding procedures aligned with EU frameworks. This blueprint lays a strong foundation for integrating EBSI and Verifiable Credentials into the EU social security system, ensuring privacy, compliance, and robust cross-border solutions.

Business blueprint for education

EBSI-VECTOR presents a business blueprint for implementing verifiable digital credentials in European education. This framework streamlines cross-border recognition of qualifications, supports lifelong learning, and simplifies verification for students, institutions, and employers across the EU.

Specification for the business registries on EBSI and pilot scenarios

EBSI-VECTOR is paving the way for secure, interoperable business registries in the EU by developing specifications for decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and trusted accreditation organizations. Explore how these innovations support legal compliance and enable cross-border digital trust, with pilot scenarios in Italy, Poland, and Slovenia.

Specification for the reference implementation of an issuer and verifier wallet for EBSI

The EBSI-VECTOR project defines a reference enterprise wallet for the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), offering entities an accessible solution to issue and verify Verifiable Credentials (VCs) without requiring extensive resources. Key outcomes include a modular architecture, compliance with EU regulations, and flexible adoption options-enhancing interoperability and trust in Europe’s digital identity ecosystem.
