(EBSI-Vector Information Pills: Strategy II)
EBSI-VECTOR developed a strategy for achieving interoperability across different national systems, ensuring that EBSI-based solutions are recognized and functioned smoothly across EU Member States. This strategy builts upon existing EU guidelines, international standards, and emerging frameworks, such as the Interoperable Europe Act (IEA) and the New European Interoperability Framework (EIF).
With this in mind, the project focuses on two main application areas:
- Digital Management of Educational Credentials: Promoting cross-border recognition of academic qualifications to enhance student and professional mobility.
- Cross-Border Verification of Social Security Information: Simplifying the validation of social security entitlements for citizens moving between EU countries.
Taking into account all these aspect, the interoperability strategy of EBSI-VECTOR follows two core principles:
- Alignment with the Interoperable Europe Act: Preparing for the mandatory interoperability assessments and utilizing resources from the Interoperable Europe Portal.
- Implementation of the New European Interoperability Framework: Addressing interoperability through four layers: technical, semantic, organizational, and legal, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with key EU regulations like GDPR and eIDAS.
The Strategy is documented in Deliverable D2.2: Interoperability Strategy of EBSI Use Cases, accessible on the EBSI-VECTOR project website. We encourage you to explore it in detail!
