(EBSI-Vector Information Pills: Strategy IV)

Today marks the final instalment of the first section of the EBSI-VECTOR Information Pills series. In this edition, we focus on how the project has explored the development of a comprehensive ecosystem strategy to drive the adoption and long-term sustainability of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI).

The initial study focused on key sectors previously identified—education, social security, and business registries—analyzing their specific needs to ensure the strategy’s practical relevance. The strategy was developed through several interconnected phases: promoting the ecosystem, fostering collaboration, integrating technological advancements, and establishing monitoring mechanisms. The approach also emphasized stakeholder engagement through knowledge-sharing events and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Outcomes:

  • A detailed plan was created for engaging stakeholders like the European Commission, policymakers, educational institutions, social security authorities, and digital wallet developers. Workshops, policy dialogues, and pilot projects were suggested for these groups to foster EBSI adoption.
  • Collaboration with other European projects, such as the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP), was identified as essential for ecosystem growth and sustainability. A plan was also developed for long-term sustainability, including online platforms and national helpdesks.

Conclusion: This strategic work marks a key step in the widespread adoption of EBSI, creating a sustainable, collaborative ecosystem for driving digital transformation in Europe’s public and private sectors.

These findings are fully documented in Deliverable D6.1: “Ecosystem strategy”. We encourage you to explore it in detail.

We hope you enjoyed this 4th and last EBSI-VECTOR “Strategy” focused Information Pill. Starting next week (Monday, April 21), we will launch a new section: “Specifications”, which will focus on the technical aspects related to the implementation of the previously described framework in the EBSI-VECTOR project use cases.

We look forward to sharing the upcoming information pills with you!
